Raised Foil Business Cards

Shine Above the Rest: Raised Foil Business Cards

Make your brand impossible to ignore. Our Raised Foil business cards combine a velvety “Soft Touch” matte background with metallic foil that is visibly raised above the surface of the card.

How It Works: We start with our premium 16pt cardstock and apply a soft suede/silk lamination. Then, we add a layer of metallic foil (Gold, Silver, or Copper) that you can actually feel. The result is a stunning 3D metallic effect that catches the light from every angle.

Why Choose Raised Foil?

  • Metallic Brilliance: Real metallic foil shines brighter than ink ever could.

  • 3D Texture: The foil is raised 50 microns high, creating a tactile experience your clients will remember.

  • Premium Contrast: The shiny foil pops dramatically against the matte velvet background.

Ideal For:

  • Luxury Brands & Real Estate

  • High-End Retail

  • VIP Membership Cards

We currently offer Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold raised foil. Please select your color in the dropdown menu when ordering.

Just like Spot UV, Raised Foil requires a Mask File:

  1. Print File (CMYK): Your main design (background, text, images).

  2. Foil Mask File (Black & White):

    • 100% Black (K): Areas where you want Foil.

    • White: Areas with NO Foil. Note: Do not put the foil design in your CMYK print file. It must be separate.

Yes! You can choose to have Raised Foil on the front only, or on both sides for maximum impact.

  • Traditional Foil Stamping: Presses the foil into the paper (debossed).

  • Raised Foil: Sits on top of the paper (embossed 3D feel). It is more modern and tactile.

The standard size in Canada is 3.5″ x 2″ (89mm x 51mm).

Design Tip: If your design has a background color, please include a “bleed” (extra margin). Your total file size should be 3.625″ x 2.125″ to prevent white edges after cutting.

These are our most substantial cards. With the 16pt stock + lamination + raised foil, the total thickness feels like a robust 19pt.

FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) means the paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests.
Over 90% of our cardstocks are FSC® certified, so you can feel good about printing with us.

Since Spot UV is a custom finish, we cannot print a single custom sample. However, you can visit our shop at 1798 St Matthews Ave to see examples of Spot UV cards we have printed for other clients.

How can I get my order?

You can pick up your order from the shop during the week under normal working hours. If you will need your order to be delivered with in the city or shipped outside, we will be more than happy to arrange that too.

Why do I need bleed in the file?

"Bleed" is an extra 1/8 inch (0.125") of artwork that extends beyond the edge of the card. We cut through this area to ensure your design goes all the way to the edge without leaving any white hairline borders.

Which black should I use?

For large black backgrounds: Use Rich Black (C=75 M=68 Y=67 K=90).
This creates a deep, dark black.
For small text: Use 100% Black (K=100) to keep the text sharp and crisp.

Which color format is best: RGB or CMYK?

Please design in CMYK. RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is for computer screens. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is for printing. Note: If you submit an RGB file, we will convert it for you, but the colors may shift slightly.

Do you check my artwork before printing?

Yes! To ensure the best quality, our pre-production team reviews every file for correct bleed and sizing.

If we find an issue: We will contact you immediately via email or phone and advise you on how to fix the file.

Design Tip: To avoid cutting off essential elements (like phone numbers or logos), please keep them at least 0.125" (3.175 mm) away from the edge. This is called the "Safety Zone." Only your background colors or images should extend to the edge.

Which file format will be the best for printing?

We prefer a high-quality PDF with bleed included. We also accept high-resolution JPG or PNG files (300 DPI).
