Silk/Soft Lamination Business Cards

Create a Unique, Elegant Look with Silk Laminated Cards

Your business card is the face of your brand. It’s more than just a piece of paper; it’s a powerful tool that delivers your key contact information instantly.

Why Choose Silk Lamination? Take your branding to the next level with our Silk Lamination finish. This process applies an ultra-soft, “velvet-like” matte layer to both sides of the card.

  • Luxury Feel: Smooth to the touch, impressive to hold.

  • Highly Durable: The lamination makes these cards water-resistant and tear-resistant.

  • Elegant Appearance: A sophisticated matte finish that softens colors and eliminates glare.

Whether you choose square or rounded corners, Silk Laminated cards leave a lasting impression of quality and professionalism.

Silk lamination is a Matte finish. It is a protective layer that feels soft and smooth, unlike the shiny reflection of gloss.

It is simple! Start with the basics: your company name, logo, and contact details. We also recommend adding a QR code to direct people to your website easily.

The standard size in Canada is 3.5″ x 2″ (89mm x 51mm).

Design Tip: If your design has a background color, please include a “bleed” (extra margin). Your total file size should be 3.625″ x 2.125″ to prevent white edges after cutting.

We print on premium 16pt cardstock. Once the Silk Lamination is applied to both sides, the card becomes even thicker and more sturdy (approx. 18-19pt), giving it a substantial, high-quality feel.

FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) means the paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests.
Over 90% of our cardstocks are FSC® certified, so you can feel good about printing with us.

Since Spot UV is a custom finish, we cannot print a single custom sample. However, you can visit our shop at 1798 St Matthews Ave to see examples of Spot UV cards we have printed for other clients.

How can I get my order?

You can pick up your order from the shop during the week under normal working hours. If you will need your order to be delivered with in the city or shipped outside, we will be more than happy to arrange that too.

Why do I need bleed in the file?

"Bleed" is an extra 1/8 inch (0.125") of artwork that extends beyond the edge of the card. We cut through this area to ensure your design goes all the way to the edge without leaving any white hairline borders.

Which black should I use?

For large black backgrounds: Use Rich Black (C=75 M=68 Y=67 K=90).
This creates a deep, dark black.
For small text: Use 100% Black (K=100) to keep the text sharp and crisp.

Which color format is best: RGB or CMYK?

Please design in CMYK. RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is for computer screens. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is for printing. Note: If you submit an RGB file, we will convert it for you, but the colors may shift slightly.

Do you check my artwork before printing?

Yes! To ensure the best quality, our pre-production team reviews every file for correct bleed and sizing.

If we find an issue: We will contact you immediately via email or phone and advise you on how to fix the file.

Design Tip: To avoid cutting off essential elements (like phone numbers or logos), please keep them at least 0.125" (3.175 mm) away from the edge. This is called the "Safety Zone." Only your background colors or images should extend to the edge.

Which file format will be the best for printing?

We prefer a high-quality PDF with bleed included. We also accept high-resolution JPG or PNG files (300 DPI).
